Spotlight: Machinery Risk Assessment

Machinery Risk Assessment is carried out to demonstrate the safety of machinery. Our machinery risk assessment tool is developed to support manufacturers and suppliers to document the risk assessment performed on their machinery. Risk Analysis consists of a series of logical steps used to assess hazardous phenomena affecting each machine. Risk Evaluation is used to establish whether risk reduction is required, whether the solutions adopted do not generate other hazardous phenomena, and whether the risk reduction process has been completed satisfactorily.

The following types of hazards should be considered at minimum:

  • Mechanical hazards
  • Electrical hazards
  • Thermal hazards
  • Noise
  • Vibration
  • Radiation
  • Material/Substance
  • Ergonomic Hazards
  • Hazards associated with the environment in which the machine is used
  • Combined Hazards

We conduct risk assessment process as per ISO/TR 14121:2012 and ISO 12100:2010. We also perform functional safety assessments, PLr and SIL assessments.
