Spotlight: Dropped Objects
Large objects may be dropped during lifting operations such as construction, crane operations, cargo transfer, drilling, rig moves. This can impact the structure, damage hydrocarbon containing equipment/piping, and in worst case even lead to injuries and fatalities.
Protective measures against such hazards cannot be solely based on likelihood and probability assessment of dropped objects. In addition to frequency based approaches we provide consequence based analysis to better mitigate the risks using design measures.
